Rachel Braun Scherl, founder of SPARK Solutions
Welcome to ‘Her Impact,’ a series celebrating remarkable women who are making a difference in the world. Join us as we delve into the inspiring stories of these extraordinary individuals.
Today we feature Rachel Braun Scherl, founder of SPARK Solutions. We asked Rachel to share her insights with us about empowerment and how a more positive impact can be made in the world of entrepreneurship, business and specifically FemTech.
Here is what she had to say:
Q: Please introduce yourself
A: My name is Rachel Braun Scherl. I am a business builder, marketing strategist, thought leader, author and speaker focused on women’s sexual and reproductive health. Through my work since founding SPARK Solutions for Growth and serving as Managing Partner, my efforts focus on providing the right ingredients (relationships, products, funding) required to get target customers to buy what customers are selling. With clear communication, understanding of unmet need, information, access and opportunity, products and services can provide much-needed solutions to customers (consumers, HCPs, investors and entrepreneurs).
Q: What does “empowerment” mean to you?
A: Empowerment is about having the information, access and opportunity to make one’s own decisions and the ability to consider options – whether the decisions involve one’s health, career and choices.
Q: What Inspired to become who you are and do what you do now?
A: I was provided with an opportunity to provide solutions for the 43% of women who at some point have sexual concerns and difficulties. I had the right business partner, the energy, attitude and experience to be part of creating an important conversation.
Q: What would you tell your younger self?
A: Be bold, take chances, listen to your gut. Take counsel from those you trust.
Q: In your opinion, what would positively impact women’s success in the world (business/tech/other)?
Women are a force to be reckoned with. We are educated, driven, creative and hardworking. We need fair access to education, networks, financing and opportunity – and can make anything happen.
Q: What advice would you give to young women who want to make a difference in the world?
A: Do not give up. Build a supportive network. Listen and learn. Ensure you have supportive relationships and people in your corner who you trust. Remember to experience joy.
